How to make your headlines rock and pull more traffic - Key Tip

You can make your 'headlines' rock and pull more traffic to your web page or article by following easy rules used and refined over many years by professional copywriters!

Headlines are what readers see when they visit your page. You have a microsecond to grab or lose their attention. Powerful and easily learned tricks long known and used by professional copywriters can easily increase your chances that the fantastic article you have carefully constructed gets the reading attention it deserves.

Seductive link text, using the same powerful headline writing techniques, gently entices your visitors from page to page and dramatically increases the amount of time they spend on your site or blog.

As you become aware of these techniques, you will begin to see how widely they are used in the media, including newspapers, journals and web sites.

Over the next few weeks, I will document these immensely valuable techniques online on this site with examples of their use.

Of course, all writing techniques and tools ultimately rely on the author's individual effort and creativity. I've personally used these techniques over many years. Often they have been hard work but always they have helped me by providing leverage and direction to my creative effort.

Your success is my reward. All tips and techniques are provided as free information.

Without further ado, here is the first tip. There will be more to come over the next few weeks.

If this is the only one you ever follow, your time reading this article will have been well spent.

Tip 1 - Headline a genuine and sincere promise of advantage or benefit to your reader from reading your article

It sounds almost too simple but promising a huge advantage or benefit to the reader in your headline is the single biggest motivator for your visitor to read on.

Imagine your reader is sitting in front of you. Ask them what are their strongest or most urgent desires or needs on the subject matter of your article.

Take their imagined reply and use it in your headline to clearly explain exactly how your article or writing satisfies their need.
